Benfica striker Roman Yaremchuk the first of the legionnaires joined the Ukrainian national team. The football player shared his impressions after the first training sessions, and also spoke about the importance of the upcoming matches.
“I have said before that it is always very nice to return to the national team, to see my partners. A warm meeting came out with the guys – they kissed and hugged.
I have very positive emotions, and most importantly, that we are all alive and well. After the club season, I’m not too exhausted, everything is fine. I will prepare for the matches of the national team, which is a great motivation.
We train in wartime, I have many friends who are on the front lines now. My parents are in Lviv, we call each other for almost half an hour, asking how things are going. Of course, because of this situation, I am very worried.
It’s good that the collections managed to leave and hold fights. I consider it necessary for the Ukrainian national team to show its face abroad. After all, the attention of our fans will be riveted to us, so we need to show ourselves as best as possible. Remind the world that Russia is the aggressor. And we need to go to Qatar,” said Yaremchuk.
