The president reminded reporters that Russia was already at war in Ukraine during Trump’s presidency.
Former US President Donald Trump, who is running for re-election, told a town hall organized by CNN on Wednesday that he would end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours if re-elected.
– I wish everyone would stop dying. they die. Russian and Ukrainian. I want them to stop dying, Trump said.
Trump has made similar statements before. However, he refused to answer a question whether he wanted Ukraine to defeat the Russians in the war. Trump told the crowd that he “doesn’t think about it in terms of winning and losing.”
– I think in terms of an agreement so that we can stop killing all these people, Trump said.
Journalists asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was visiting Rome on Saturday, to comment on Trump’s speeches. He highlighted the events during Trump’s last presidential term.
– Then there was no full-scale attack, but there was a war. The Russian offensive was already underway. Crimea was annexed, part of the Donbass was annexed. I’m not sure he was deeply involved, but in any case, he didn’t solve the question. I’m not sure that was his priority. I don’t blame him for anything. But we know the facts and we have to look at them,” Zelensky said according to CNN.
Trump was the president. I was the president. and annexed two parts of Ukraine. No one has solved this question. No one It’s not about Trump, he said.
