A diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease changed Michael J. Fox’s entire life.
You can now watch the freshly baked film Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie on Apple TV+ for the service’s monthly fee. In the documentary, the beloved actor recounts his career and his battle with Parkinson’s disease in his own words.
The film, directed by Davis Guggenheim, tells how Michael J. Fox achieved massive success in the 1980s with the series Family Ties and Back to the Future. Everything changed when in 1991, during the filming of Doc Hollywood, Fox had the first symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. At first, Fox suspected that his hangover was caused by a blow to his head on a trip, but the truth was too harsh.
The little girl shaking casually was explained by a diagnosis that the actress couldn’t believe was true.
Parkinson’s disease.
A disease of old people, although Fox was only 30 years old at the time.
In the early 1990s, Michael J. Fox overcomes his anxiety by grabbing a bottle and hiding the disease from everyone in Hollywood. Today, he has been sober for more than 30 years and has spoken openly and passionately about Parkinson’s disease and its research.
Still: A Michael J. The Fox movie is definitely worth watching if the Back to the Future movies are close to your heart or if you just want to see how persistent someone can be under the greatest of burdens.
