The Crowded Room series, which debuted in June, was a turning point for actor Tom Holland.
Tom Holland, best known for his role as Spider-Man, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly talks about creating The Crowded Room mini-series that will debut in June on Apple TV+ .
In the series based on true events, Holland plays Danny Sullivan, who is arrested after a shooting incident in the summer of 1979.
“I felt like I was a character in the series in my life. I had a mini meltdown when I was at home and decided to shave my head bald because I wanted to get rid of the character. However, I didn’t because Filming was still going on…I’ve never experienced anything like this before,” Holland revealed.
The Crowded Room transformed Holland’s understanding of mental health and led to the decision to end harmful patterns of behaviour. The actor has been without alcohol for over a year now. Besides this, Holland nurtures his mental health by staying away from social media.
“I’ve decided to take a break from social media for the sake of my mental health, because I find Instagram and Twitter too annoying and overwhelming. “When I read things about myself, I find them very annoying and overwhelming,” Tom Holland announced last summer. I get trapped and spiral, and things like that hurt my mental health.”
