The alarm went off in Keru just after 2 pm.
Central Finland’s rescue service has received a report of an air traffic accident at Keru in Henaasentii at around 2:15 pm on Monday.
An air traffic accident has occurred in Keru, the Interior Finland Police said on Twitter. According to the tweet, rescue operations are handling the situation and police are directing road traffic in the area.
According to the Air Force’s Twitter account, an Air Force Hawk jet trainer has crashed south of Kairu. The plane has crashed, the pilot managed to save himself from the ejection seat.
According to the Air Force, both the pilots involved in the accident have been contacted and they have been sent to the health department for further investigation.
The Suur-Keru journalist Markku Pilima directed the alarm after the rescue service went to the scene. When Pilema reached the spot, the police had already stopped road traffic about a kilometer before the accident site.
– A search helicopter and a rescue helicopter arrived at the scene. As I left, a border guard or defense force helicopter approached, landing in a nearby field, back to Suur-Keru for delivery to Pilema, who had returned from the crash site to Ilta-Sanom.
– When I came here by car for delivery, an ATV trailer of the rescue service arrived along the platform. This may indicate that the pilot or pilots were injured. The pilot had regained consciousness when first aid arrived.

There were about six to seven police patrols as well as first aid units and representatives from the defense forces. There was still very little information available about the accident.
– According to reports, there was a plume of smoke – a terrible rumble was heard and then a plume of smoke. He knew how to tell.
There were rumors at the scene that parachutes had jumped and some pieces of parachutes had been seen, but Pilema insisted that this was “second- and third-hand information”.
The last time Hawk jets fell in Finland was in 2013, when two Hawks collided at Lake Leistijärvi. In that case, a 30-year-old captain who worked as a flight instructor died in the crash.
