Amazon Games is working on an online role-playing game based on The Lord of the Rings license.
The MMO adventure, which is still waiting for its official name, is being developed by Amazon Games Orange County, better known as New World. The game should be brought to PC and as-yet-named consoles, though there’s no information on a release date at this time.
The developers are said to have learned a lot from the successful release of New World. There are also plans to bring the large-scale battles familiar from the same game to the ambitious Lord of the Rings project. In the background of the game hums the familiar Azoth engine from New World, although in a tuned version.
