The developers of the discontinued NFT game seem to have hyped the AI.
Kotaku reports that another NFT project has passed. It was an online game called MechaFightClub which, despite its name, focused on cockfighting. So in the game, players were supposed to purchase robot roosters as NFTs, which they would then defeat each other in the arena.
The idea didn’t sound very promising, and now developer Irreverent Labs has announced that the game is in “permanent hibernation.” The reason is far from the collapse of the NFT market, but developers blame the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for creating uncertainty in the crypto market.
“We are a US company, and the lack of transparency makes it difficult for blockchain companies to operate here,” the developers commented.
Kotaku reports that Irreverent Labs seems to be leaping from one boom to the next. The company is reported to be moving from NFT development to artificial intelligence, although nothing has been officially announced. It was only a year ago that Irreverent Labs raised $40 million in funding for its cockfighting game, which seemingly disappeared as quickly as it arrived.
