Best known as an online shooter, Hawken makes a spectacular return as a free-to-play cooperative game.
The brilliant mecha shooter Hawken was dropped in 2018, but now the game is making a comeback in a new form. As reported by Kotaku, the new game is called Hawken Reborn, and its early access version will be released this week.
The game that is coming out now is actually not just a revived version of the old one, but a completely new game. While the old Hawken was a player-to-player PvP shooter, Hawken Reborn offers a cooperative PvE twist against AI-controlled enemies. Developer studio 505 Games has promised that the new game will also tell the story of the development of the world of Hawken, and the Early Access release lets you play the first mission from this story.
Below you can watch the announcement trailer for Hawken Reborn, and you can try the game tomorrow May 17th via Steam, where you can also find lots of additional information. Hawken Reborn is free to play, so at least you can try out the new robot shooter with less range.
