Neogames Finland ry announced that last year the turnover of the Finnish game industry remained the same as in the previous year, that is, about 3.2 billion euros, and the operating result in 2021 was a little less than one billion. With these figures, the Finnish gaming industry ranks among the five largest in Europe and is the leading producer of mobile games.
“It is noteworthy that over the past 10 years, the Finnish gaming industry has generated a cumulative turnover of EUR 23 billion and has paid Finland more than EUR 2.5 billion in various taxes,” commented Kupi Hiltunen, Director of NeoGames. “So it can be said that the gaming industry has become an important part of the Finnish national economy.”
The total number of employees in the gaming industry was projected to be approximately 4,100 at the end of 2022, meaning an increase of approximately five hundred in the number of creators since the end of 2020. The number of game studios has also increased – there are more than 200 of them.
