The plane crashed yesterday, Monday, at around 2:15 am at Keru in the Henacenti swamp area near the Manta-Villappula border. The pilots on board managed to eject themselves from the ejection seat.
Vantila said during a media meeting on Tuesday that the pilots would be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. The media conference asked how life-threatening the situation was on Monday.
According to Air Force Major Teemu Mahlamaki, military aviation always involves risk.
– I can’t give a detailed assessment, but there are risks involved and good luck was on the way.
The ejection seat is used with a simulator, and landing with a parachute is practiced on terrain and in water.
– Naturally, there is no catapult in use.
The engine of the crashed plane had already stalled in the air, the reason for which is not yet known.
