Marimekko’s comparable operating profit fell at the start of the year.
Marimekko’s comparable operating profit fell to 3.8 million euros in January-March, compared with 6.6 million euros a year earlier.
According to Marimekko CEO Tina Alahuta-Kasko, net sales fell as expected, due, for example, to a decrease in domestic wholesale sales, which was caused by weak general consumer demand in Finland.
In January-March, the company’s turnover decreased by two percent compared to the previous year and amounted to 35.3 million euros.
Marimekko’s turnover for the full year is forecast to grow in Finland and internationally.
