Based on the series of novels by Jonathan Stroud, Lockwood & Company. Launched on Netflix in January. The fantasy thriller garnered a lot of praise, but clearly not enough viewers, because now the skull has been axed again.
According to Variety, Lockwood & Co. Canceled after the first season, and no new episodes are planned. According to the magazine’s source, Netflix was very satisfied with the quality of the series, but viewership remained so low that a second season could not be greenlit.
Apart from Netflix, Lockwood & Company was also well received by critics and so-called regular viewers. On Rotten Tomatoes, the freshness rating is over 90 percent on both sides, and on IMDb, the average rating is 7.4 on a 1–10 scale.
In this Lockwood & Company story, “teens investigating the paranormal begin to battle against the ghosts haunting the world. Uncovering a diabolical plot may require extreme sacrifice.”
