Majnalahti died of a sudden illness at home in Tampere on Sunday, his daughter, actress Sanna Majnalahti told STT on Tuesday.
The versatile Majnlahti made his biggest career as a director with his daughter in many different theatres. He was theater director at Tampere Tyoven Theater in 1981–1986 and at Turku City Theater in 1986–1990.
On the big screen, Majnlahti starred, for example, in Mika Kaurismäki’s film Kalani (1984). On the TV side, he was seen in, among other things, the drama Art is Long, Life is Short (1967).
