Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has received a major new update.
The Return of Rome expansion is now available for the remastered version of the classic strategy game. The new format will feature a bunch of new and old games.
With the expansion, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has been supplemented with nations from the original Age of Empires. The expansion also includes an entirely new Lac Vietnam nation, modeled after a people made up of late Neolithic Southeast Asian tribes. Overall, the game has gained 17 new playable nations.
In addition to Nations, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition – Rome Returns offers players three new campaigns. It is a stand-alone expansion with its own set of rules, so the new nations and campaigns are not compatible with the original Age of Empires II content. However, players can easily switch between new and old content.
