The European Union has announced its support for Microsoft’s sale of Activision Blizzard, with some conditions. Microsoft should make sure that the games are also available on other major platforms and cloud servers. Now the British Competition Authority, or CMA, which blocked the deal, and Activision Blizzard’s management have commented on the EU’s decision.
The UK CMA is not going to budge, as the deal will give Microsoft the right to dictate market position for the next ten years. Activision Blizzard’s Lulu Cheng Meserve, on the other hand, is satisfied with the EU’s decision.
