The website of the Port of Helsinki was hit by a denial-of-service attack on Wednesday.
Communications from the port company told STT that the website was down for about five hours.
The Russian hacker group NoName announced on its Telegram channel that it was behind the attack on the website of the Port of Helsinki. Later, the hacker group announced that it had also launched a similar attack on the website of the port of Naantali.
According to the group, the reasons for the attacks were the border fence to be built on Finland’s eastern border and the Ukrainian war damage register established at the Council of Europe summit.
The hacker group’s announcements were first reported by Yale. The same group, NoName 057(16), recently announced that it also attacked other Finnish online services.
