The fourth season of the Star Wars series The Mandalorian may be delayed due to the writers’ strike.
The screenwriters’ strike in Hollywood has entered its third week, with a direct impact on the production schedule of future movies and TV series. And even big franchises like Star Wars don’t shy away from it.
According to Deadline’s sources, the production of the fourth season of Star Wars series The Mandalorian may be delayed. A fourth season has not yet been officially confirmed, but series creator Jon Favreau already confirmed at the beginning of the year that scripts for the new season were ready.
According to rumours, the shooting of the fourth season was scheduled to begin next September. Although there is still time until autumn, according to the same insider rumors, filming may be postponed.
Production of films and series based on finished scripts may also continue during the strike, but screenwriters may not be present or work at that time. Because of this, the start of shooting was usually postponed until the end of the strike, so that the screenwriters could be closely involved in the production.
Some productions already underway – such as Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon – have decided to continue filming despite the strike.
The third season of The Mandalorian is now available to watch in its entirety on Disney+.
