The Finnish Film Foundation lists the most watched film series in Finland from 1972–2023.
According to statistics from the Finnish Film Foundation, the most viewed film series in modern Finnish film history is 007 James Bond (1962–2021), which has gathered at least 10,171,404 viewers in cinemas with 26 films.
So Bond clearly has more viewers than Uno Turhapuro, who had adventures in 20 films between 1973 and 2004, with an audience of 7,497,572.
Third on the list is Star Wars (1977–2019) with 3,874,536 viewers, fourth is Harry Potter and the Wonders (2001–2022) with 3,591,268 viewers and fifth is Middle Earth (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit) (2001– 2014) with 3,451,613 viewers.
However, it should be noted that in the Film Foundation’s calculations, the 1978 The Lord of the Rings animation (premiered in 1980) is also included in the audience figures for the Tolkien films.
