Geralt can now automatically oil his weapons, and the mess bothers players.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has oil resources that are used to deal additional damage before combat, depending on who you’re up against. This means extra browsing through menus, so certainly the system put in unnecessary effort in the opinion of many players.
Now an update has been made to The Witcher 3, which allows you to automate the use of oils. However, according to Kotaku, some players from the old alliance have expressed regret over this.
According to avid players, the automatic use of oils brings The Witcher closer to hack-and-slash than RPG. However, it has not gone unnoticed that this is a completely voluntary regulation. “Auto-oiling” is a new setting that the player can use if he wishes, but nothing forces him to do so.
There was also obviously a demand for automatic use of the oils. As Kotaku says, the game already has an auto-oil game mod developed by players that has been downloaded over 1.5 million times. So it’s no surprise that CD Projekt Red decided to bring the feature to the game’s official settings.
