Kaspar Tekili died in a climbing accident.
Multiple Polish sources say that Kasper Tekili, the husband of former top skier Justina Kowalski, has died. According to WP SportoweFakty, the death was caused by a climbing accident caused by an avalanche.
Tekili, 38, was a renowned mountaineer. The accident happened in the Swiss Alps, where he was climbing. His wife Justina, 40, and their two-year-old son were also in Switzerland.
– I confirm the news, he tragically passed away in the mountains. Renowned Polish climber Andrzej Burgil tried to save him, journalist Dawid Kulig told WP SportoweFakty.
– Yes, he went climbing yesterday (Wednesday), but did not come back in the evening. Jerzy Natkanski, a member of the Polish Mountaineering Association, said he was found under the avalanche today (Thursday).
As recently as Wednesday, Tekieli uploaded a photo of snowy conditions in the Swiss Alps to Instagram.
