New products are coming out again from minicomputer maker Miniforum from Hong Kong.
The new products are called the Venus UM790 Pro and the Venus UM780 Pro. They are equipped with the new AMD 7040 “Phoenix” APU processors. AMD Ryzen 9 7940H/HS and Ryzen 7 7840H/HS models are available.
The APU has up to eight Zen 4 architecture cores and 16 threads. The clock frequency can go up to a maximum of 5.2 GHz. The central memory of the computer can be at most type DDR5-5600.
Graphical performance is provided by the RDNA 3 graphics card Radeon 780M. The minicomputer supports up to four displays at the same time, and the RDNA 3 graphics card provides AV1 support.
The product has active cooling, and Minisphere’s Cold Wave technology takes care of it. It includes two fans, one directed to the CPU and the other to the memory and SSD drives. The UM790 and UM780 also offer metal cases with air vents on the sides and back.
Connections include two USB4 (Type-C) ports, four USB 3.2 Gen2 (Type-A) ports, a 2.5 GbE LAN port with a Killer Wireless card, two HDMI 2.1 outputs, and a 19 V DC connector. Both USB4 ports support 100W power supply.
The base model of the Minisforum UM790 Pro is priced at 3,999 RMB, which is roughly equivalent to 528 Euros. Official EU pricing will be announced at a later date. Below is an introductory video.
