Ukrainian and Russian forces have been fighting for months for control of the city of Bahamut in eastern Ukraine.

Space technology company Maxar published new satellite images of Bahamut in Ukraine on Wednesday.

The city in eastern Ukraine has been one of the main theaters of Russia’s war of aggression for months. The defenders of Ukraine fought for control of the city, inter alia, against the forces of the Russian private army Wagner.

Pavlo Kirilenko, head of the military administration of the Donetsk region, said already in January that a significant part of Bahamut’s infrastructure had been destroyed in the fighting. At the time, Maxar also published satellite images of the destruction caused by Russia in the city.

Now new photographs published by Maxar show how the devastation has continued over the past four months. The destruction of Bahamut can already be said to be complete.

Along with more recent satellite images, Maxar published photos showing the same areas from a year earlier. Now the city – where more than 70,000 people lived before the extensive war of invasion of Russia – is the remains of residential buildings, schools and other buildings.
