Last minute, the acclaimed Star Wars action role-playing game became the best-selling game of April.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which came out in April, is known to be a huge sales success, but for one reason or another, publisher Electronic Arts hasn’t yet disclosed exact sales figures. However, according to analytics company Circana, the game was the best-selling release in its entire month of release, as reported by IGN.
This isn’t a huge surprise yet, as April’s other new game releases such as Dead Island 2 and Minecraft Legends were not expected and promoted in a similar way to the latest Star Wars game. What is surprising, however, is that Jedi: Survivor managed to rouse itself to the top of the sales charts, even though it was only released on April 28.
Jedi Adventure therefore became the biggest game of the month with only a few days of sales. According to Circana, Dead Island 2 came in second, followed by the baseball game MLB: The Show 23 in third place.
EA has commented that it is satisfied with the success of Jedi: Survivor, but exact sales figures are not yet known. The game’s predecessor, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, was said to have “reached 20 million players” just a few years ago, so there’s reason to expect considerable commercial success for Survivor. Furthermore, the laudatory reviews have definitely boosted the sales of the game.
