The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been a great sales success as expected.
Released last Friday, the long-awaited Switch adventure has instantly become one of the most successful games in the series’ history. The game broke the sales mark of ten million copies in record time.
According to Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sold over 10 million copies worldwide in three days. Thus, Tears of the Kingdom is the fastest-selling game in the history of the entire popular game series. Meanwhile, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the fastest-selling utopian game in Nintendo console history.
The best-selling game in The Legend of Zelda series to date is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, released in 2017, with nearly 30 million copies sold to date. However, based on early sales figures, the sequel to Tears of the Kingdom would seem to pass its predecessor with an even higher probability in terms of total sales.
