Others on the jetty helped to save the man who had fallen into the water.
A man fell into the water from the jetty in Karinitinti, Valkyakoski, just before 8.30 pm on Friday.
Itu Rasenen, on-duty fire marshal of Pirkanmaa Rescue Service, says others on the wharf were able to keep the man afloat long enough for the rescue service’s first unit to reach the target.
According to Rasenen’s information, the man who fell overboard was picked up on the pier, and was not seriously injured.
First aid checks the person’s condition, says Rasenen, and probably doesn’t require transport to further treatment.
The rescue service received an alert about the human rescue mission at 19:32 on Friday.
