Toronto’s season ended, and Kyle Dubas’ streak ended as well.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have relieved their general manager Kyle Dubas of his duties, the club said on its website. Dabas’ current contract runs until the end of June, but club owner Brendan Shanahan confirmed that Dabas would not return to the club.
In a press release, Shanahan thanked Dabas for his nine years at the club.
Toronto’s season ended with a bitter disappointment. In the opening round of the playoffs, the team defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4–2, but lost 1–4 to the Florida Panthers, captained by Alexander Barkov, in the second round.
Dubas has been in a fierce media frenzy throughout his career, as the Toronto team he assembled won only one playoff series despite regular season success.
The last time hockey-crazy Toronto celebrated the Stanley Cup was in the spring of 1967.
