Kari Jalonen has bad news for the Czech Republic in the middle of the World Cup

The Czech Republic has got the job position in the B group of the World Cup.

The Czech Republic, coached by Kari Jalonen, will lose two star players from the World Cup squad to illness.

The Czech Ice Hockey Federation announced on Friday that Filip Chytil and Lukas Sedlak would miss the tournament due to injury. Both went to their country to recover.

According to the team, the Czech Republic has alerted Radan Lensi to replace him, who will arrive in Riga during Friday. Still not sure whether the Czech Republic will get the second place in the World Cup.

Chitil and Sedlak’s injuries are a serious blow to Jalonen’s pop pool.

Chteil, 23, was one of the few NHL signings from the Czech Republic. The talented striker of the New York Rangers had time to play only two World Cup matches (0+1) before the end of the tournament.

Sedlak made a strong start to the World Cup. The 30-year-old striker of Dynamo Pardubice scored 3+2 in three games.

The Czech Republic will play in Group B of the Riga World Cup. The Czech Republic has won three out of four games and lost one in overtime.
