Amazon Games, which developed the lame New World multiplayer game, is currently developing a new The Lord of the Rings multiplayer game.
The game is set in the Third Age of Middle-earth, but is not based on or related to Amazon’s The Rings of Power TV series.
The game is also unrelated to the canceled LOTR MMO game, which was developed in collaboration with China’s Tencent. The project was shelved in 2021.
Double Helix Studios, recently acquired by Amazon, is responsible for the development of new games, having previously developed e.g. Enter The Matrix, Star Wars Episode III, Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb games.
The upcoming The Lord of the Rings MMO game is coming to PC and consoles.
