Sony has previewed its new PS5 controller model.
Previously known as Project Leonardo, the controller was initially presented at the CES technology fair in January. Ahead of release, more information has now been revealed about the controller, codenamed Access.
The Access controller is said to offer a whole host of customization options, with which players with limited mobility can play PS5 games more easily, more comfortably, and for longer periods of time. Developed with the help of experts, the controller is described as offering a range of different adjustment options and button types, allowing users to adapt their controller to their specific needs. According to Sony, players can also use a combination of two Access controllers and a DualSense controller as they see fit.
With movable analog controllers and switchable buttons, players can also customize how the Access controller works in different games. For example, by adjusting the controller profile, players can choose the button’s function so that holding the button challenges them, while one press turns the button on or off.
A price or release schedule for the Access controller hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, according to Sony more information about the controller will be available in the coming months.
