Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has a Rotten Tomatoes percentage of only 50.
The fifth Indiana Jones film had its world premiere last night at the Cannes Film Festival, and the first reviews have now been released.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny divided critical opinion, but many noted that it is as good a film as the previous film, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
The film currently sits at a modest 50 on Rotten Tomatoes, but that’s based on just eight reviews.
On Metacritic, the film currently has an average critic rating of 51/100. It is calculated on the basis of 10 reviews.
For example, David Ehrlich of IndieWire completely blasted the film, saying it was a complete waste of time. He also writes that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is more of a good movie than a novelty.
Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian praised Harrison Ford’s performance, but compared the film to Star Wars: The Force Awakens in a non-positive manner. Robbie Collin of The Telegraph gave the film only two stars in his assessment. Total Film gives the film four stars, as does James Mottram of The Radio Times.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will premiere in Finland on June 28.
