1994’s True Lies was one of the best action movies of its decade, but the new TV series based on it isn’t much to cheer about.

On Wednesday of this week, True Lies finally arrived on Disney+ without much fanfare. And it’s a good thing, because True Lies hasn’t earned any fanfare. In reviews, the series has been considered indifferent – in fact, the reception has been so poor that True Lies was announced to end before the first season was even over.
