At Computex 2023, Gigabyte presented an SSD drive within the Aorus product family.
As the name suggests, the Gigabyte Aorus Gen5 12000 offers sequential read speeds of 12,000MB. The product is an upgrade to the previous SSD model, offering 10,000 megabytes of speed. Sustained write speeds are available at 11,000 megabytes per second.
Like the current, faster SSD drives, the product comes with a large cooling element. It has been named Thermal Guard Extreme and it has been seen in the previous model as well. The element is nanocarbon coated aluminum with two heat pipes.
The drive, which uses the Phison E26 controller, will be available in terabyte and two terabyte models, at least initially. A four terabyte model will follow later this year and an eight terabyte model in 2024. picture below.
