KuPS stole points from Turku.
KUPS achieved an important victory in the Higher Secondary Series of the Men’s Football League by defeating Inter 1–0 away from home.
The dramatic match was settled at the end of extra time, when KUPS’s Axel Vidjeskog scored a penalty kick. Earlier in the second half, Inter had at least two penalty kicks, but KUPS goalkeeper Johannes Credl stopped Timo Stavitski’s shots both times.
KuPS is in second place in the standings. There is a one-point gap between the Kuopio team and league leader HJK, but the Helsinki team has played one match less. Inter is sixth.
