Arsenal also lost. Bayern Munich was in trouble from Lilliput.
Manchester United’s dreadful defensive play overshadowed a brilliant night for the team’s 20-year-old Danish striker Rasmus Hjolund in the Champions League. United had to face defeat by 2-3 goals against Turkish team Galatasaray at home.
Hjolund gave England the lead in the 17th minute by heading home Marcus Rashford’s cross. However, Wilfried Zaha was allowed to equalize six minutes later.
After slipping a Galatasaray defender in the second period, Hjolund ran alone and put the ball into the goal.
Then United’s complete chaos began. First, Kerem Akturkoglu managed to equalize 2-2 after the defense fell asleep in the 71st minute
A few minutes later, Casemiro picked up his second yellow card, giving the Turks a penalty after a foul on goalkeeper Andre Onana. Mauro Icardi’s shot went wide. However, Icardi made up for his mistake by scoring an easy goal four minutes later in the 84th minute.
United have had a very disappointing start to the season. In the Premier League, he has scored only nine points in seven matches. They have lost both their matches in the A group of the Champions League.
Has coach Eric Ten Hag’s ball started swinging?
It was not easy for other big clubs either. Bayern Munich had to perform well against FC Copenhagen to win. Copenhagen took the lead in the 56th minute, but the big German club was able to turn the situation around with goals from their young stars, Jamal Musiala and Mathis Tell.
Arsenal lost 1–2 to Lens in the French league. Gabriel Jesus gave the Londoners the lead, but goals from Adrian Thomson and Eli Wahi gave the home side the points.
Real Madrid played Napoli as guests in the victory goal celebration. Madrid secured the points with a 3–2 goal.
